Washout Room

The Washout Room project is the renovation of a portion of an existing building in SoHo designed to provide a new specialized area accommodating the requirements of a fine-art printmaking studio. Specifically attending to the “wet” portion of the screenprinting process the room is waterproofed and tiled to handle screen cleaning, power washing, and in general a high level of usage / mess. The custom design for back lit stainless steel washout booth is tailored to the size of the studio’s equipment and the nature of the process including a cantilevered brim to contain spray and a perforated ledge for drying / resting tools.
