Chibbernoonie’s collaboration with the Brooklyn-based nightclub Elsewhere spanned multiple conceptual projects between 2021 and 2024.
The initiative began with a winning proposal for an invited RFP to redesign Elsewhere Brooklyn’s rooftop venue. This was followed by a conceptual design phase and feasibility study developed in collaboration with a structural engineer, contractor/project manager, and additional consultants.
Two parallel projects—Elsewhere DC and Elsewhere LA—involved the adaptive reuse of existing buildings into multi-venue nightclubs with a capacity of over 3,000 people. In both cities, Chibbernoonie acted as lead designer in close coordination with local architects of record. To support the client’s site selection process, Chibbernoonie conducted feasibility studies and developed conceptual proposals for multiple properties. A future developer is expected to play a central role in any potential realization of the LA project.
